Short track: Maliszewska wins European championships

Natalia Maliszewska won a gold medal during the European Championships in short track, taking place in Dordrecht, the Netherlands.

The Białystok-born Pole won the 500 metres competition - a distance in which she leads the World Cup standings this season. She beat the Italian Martina Valcepina and two Dutch athletes: Lara van Ruijven and Suzanne Schulting.

In 2015, Patrycja Maliszewska, the older sister of Natalia, won the gold medal at the European Championships at a distance of 3000 metres.

For Natalia, this is another great success after a silver World Championships’ medal won in 2018 in Montreal, and two victories in World Cup events this season.
