Football: Piątek continues to impress in AC Milan

Krzysztof Piątek just cannot stop scoring goals. On Sunday, he hit the net against AS Roma in an away game of the Italian Serie A, drawn by his team 1:1.

The 23-year-old Polish striker suddenly appeared from behind the backs of Roma’s defenders and converted the pass from Lucas Paqueta into a goal in the 26th minute.

The match was levelled shortly after the start of the second half by Nicolo Zaniolo.

This was his 14th goal in this league season, 13 of them scored for his former club, Genoa. So far, he has scored three goals in three games for AC Milan, including his brace in Tuesday’s Italian Cup quarterfinal game against Napoli. In this tournament, he has scored eight goals in just three matches.

On Saturday, another two Polish strikers bagged goals in Serie A: Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli, against Sampdoria (his 12th league goal), and Mariusz Stępiński from Chievo, against Empoli (sixth league goal). The former saw another three Polish players on the pitch apart from Milik: his teammate Piotr Zieliński, and Sampdoria’s Karol Linetty and Bartosz Bereszyński.
