The visit of the ship in the American port in Florida will be celebrated with a banquet. Among its participants will be representatives of the Polish community in the US, a Secretary of State in the Polish Prime Minister’s office Anna Maria Anders, as well as honorary Polish consul in Miami, Beata Paszyc.
“The banquet will be a good opportunity to create business relations and for the diplomatic meetings,” Monika Mostowska, a representative of the Pallottines Mission Foundation Salvatti, the co-organiser of the Independence Sail, said.
The main point of the visit in Miami will be an annual “Polish Community Ball”, which this year will also take place on board of the “Dar Młodzieży.”
“There will be banquets and official meetings onboard the ship. Representatives of the Polish community from the entire East Coast will be present. Guests will be able to spend time on the territory of Poland, which the ship is,” Michał Kania, a spokesperson of the Polish Marine Economy and Inland Navigation Ministry said.
“Dar Młodzieży” will stay in Miami until Monday. Then it will set sail to Europe. “The ship will visit the Bahamas, it will be a technical stop before entering the open Atlantic Ocean. Its next destinations are Azores, London and then it will return to Gdynia [northern Poland],” Mr Kania added.
The Independence Sail has commenced in May. “Dar Młodzieży“ is cruising around the world to visit 20 largest ports located on five continents.
