Although Lisek was, up to that certain point, flawless, it was Wojciechowski who jumped 5.90 metres, setting his new indoor personal best result. Lisek could not respond, and finished the competition with 5.85 metres.

The Swede Melker Start Jacobsson claimed the bronze medal.

Ewa Swoboda won the 60 metres competition, with the result 7.09 s., ahead of Dafne Schippers (7.14s) from the Netherlands, and Asha Philip from Great Britain. It is the first major senior title in the sports career of the 21-year-old Pole.

Other Poles who competed in the finals on Saturday, finished behind the medal zone. Sylwester Bednarek came sixth in the men’s high jump, while Justyna Święty-Ersetic took the same position in the women’s 400 metres.
