On Tuesday, Hubert Hurkacz defeated Kei Nishikori 4:6, 6:4, 6:3 in the third round of the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells.
The 22-year-old Pole may become a “nemesis” for the world’s seventh racket, as he defeated the Japanese for the second time in a fortnight. On February 27, he eliminated his acclaimed rival from the tournament in Dubai.
In the Round of 16, Hurkacz will face the winner of the duel: Denis Shapovalov vs Marin Cilić. Although by no means the favourite, the world of tennis has already become familiar with the name of the promising Polish player, and any future great rivals have to be on their guard.
