Around 3 mln people attend fitness clubs in Poland: report

According to the report created by the audit company Deloitte, nearly three million citizens of Poland attend fitness clubs, which is around eight percent of the whole population of the country.

The report “The European Health & Fitness Market 2019” was created by Deloitte along with organisation EuropeActive.

The document states that the Polish fitness market will develop in years to come. The number of fitness clubs in Poland at the end of 2018 was around 2,700. Nearly three million Poles attend them, which is around eight percent of the population of Poland.

The earnings of Polish fitness clubs was EUR 985 mln at the end of last year. The average monthly fee decreased by 3.4 percent compared to 2017 and was EUR 27, much less than the average in Europe (EUR 40).

The Polish fitness market is much more fragmented than in other European countries. “Apart from a few major players, there are many micro-networks in the country,” the report states.

The report was based on analyses conducted in 19 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands, Turkey and Ukraine.
