Police in Grudziądz, northern Poland, intervened in a rather unusual situation and freed a fallow deer that was stuck in a fence and could not let itself out, after the poor animal was spotted struggling by a woman who alerted the police.
On Easter Sunday, a cyclist in Grudziądz informed the police of the ungulate entangled in a wire mesh that, despite its efforts, could not untangle itself.
The policemen found the animal struggling at the spot described by the bicyclist. The four-hoofed mammal had no strength to fight, the police stated.
The policemen held the animal to avoid getting kicked by it and simultaneously set it free before it galloped away to freedom.
