“There are many things Poland succeeded to do. We were the same – a socialist economy and not a free country,” Ms Zourabichvili said.

“The model Poland is presenting is a model of economic development with good strong growth, it is also a model for employment, which is one of the biggest problems in Georgia,” she added, pointing out that Poland is also a model of regional development.

Ms Zourabichvili also said that an important aspect of Tbilisi relations with Warsaw is culture. “For many years, Poland has been our ‘master’ and ambassador in the EU. You have managed to promote culture very well,” she said.

The President of Georgia arrived in Warsaw on Tuesday. This is her first official visit to Poland after taking office in 2018.
