This year, Poland is represented by Roman Stańczak and his work “Flight” which won the special contest for artists who wanted to present their work at the Polish Pavilion.

“The Polish Pavilion will feature an aircraft processed according to Mr Stańczak’s artistic strategy of deconstructing the material order of things – depriving them of their usual function and aesthetic value while offering them a new form and meaning,” the official website of the Polish Pavilion states.

The Polish Pavilion is being financed by Poland’s Culture and National Heritage Ministry and is organised by the National Art Gallery “Zachęta.”

International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia is one of the most important art exhibitions all over the world. This year a total of 90 countries will present their pavilions. For the first time, there will be exhibited works from Malaysia and Madagascar. The official opening of Biennale will take place on Saturday.
