“We have received an official invitation for President Andrzej Duda and his wife to visit the White House in June this year. The details of the visit are yet to be arranged between the two presidents' offices and will be announced by the American side, as it is the host,” Mr Szczerski said.
He also pointed out that President Duda had already planned a visit to the US in June this year to discuss the economy.
“From our point of view, it would be most convenient if we could arrange one major visit to include both Washington and the economic component. But we will still need to talk about that,” Mr Szczerski emphasised.
It is possible that the Polish president will travel to the US after the summit of the Three Seas Initiative which will take place on June 5-6 in Slovenia.
The issue of the Three Seas cooperation is likely to be among the topics of discussion between Presidents Duda and Trump.
Mr Szczerski will travel to Washington DC at the end of May to discuss the details of the President’s visit.
The Polish presidential couple made their first visit to the White House on September 18, 2018. At that time both presidents Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump have signed a bilateral declaration on cooperation in security, defence, energy, trade and investment policies.
