The Israeli website Ynet reports that assailant attacked when Mr Magierowski was standing outside the premises of the Embassy.

The culprit started physically and verbally assaulting him. According to the reports, the ambassador could not understand what the attacker was screaming, he only heard “Polish, Polish!”

Mr Magierowski managed to take a picture of the attacker and his car and notified the authorities. After 90 minutes, the culprit was apprehended, the Israeli Foreign Ministry reported.

The Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki tweeted that attacks on diplomats should not be tolerated.

After the attack, Anna Azari, the Israeli ambassador to Poland, was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry.
