Poland’s President Andrzej Duda strongly condemned Tuesday’s assault on the Polish Ambassador to Israel Marek Magierowski calling the event “an anti-Polish act”.
“All indications are that it was an anti-Polish act, an act of hatred against us, an absolutely unjust hatred. I want to make it very clear, as much as I fight every symptom of antisemitism – deeming it abhorrent and disgraceful – I will absolutely not agree to any anti-Polish act,” said President Duda.
Poland’s president also demanded action from Israeli authorities, saying: “I expect Israeli authorities to explain this situation and, above all, that an honest policy will be launched to stop these kinds of anti-Polish behaviours. Poles do not deserve it.”
