Polish boxer retains World Champion title

Ewa Brodnicka retained the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) belt in the super featherweight category. On Saturday, she won against Janeth Perez from Mexico by a majority decision.

A 10-round match saw no knock-out, although the Polish boxer controlled the situation in the ring. Two judges declared Brodnicka’s victory, while one called it a draw, and thus she enjoyed her third consecutive retention of the WBO title. In 2017, she won the belt in a fight against Irma Adler from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ewa Brodnicka made her professional debut in 2013. So far, she remains undefeated, having won all 17 fights.

Before moving to the super featherweight category, Brodnicka was the EBU female Lightweight champion (title won in 2015, retained in 2016).
