The grouping of opposition parties who stood together in the European elections under the “European Coalition” label was a one off for these elections and may not be viable for the future, agree commentators Michał Kobosko and Łukasz Warzecha on “Poland IN”.
Law and Justice’s victory in Sunday’s European elections mean a lot of soul searching for the opposition. According to Michał Kobosko the European Coalition was a project for the EP elections only. Łukasz Warzecha feels that the opposition must review its approach as its drift to the left on axiomatic issues and attacks on the government were proving counter-productive. Neither of the commentators expected any return by Donald Tusk to Polish politics.
