PolandIN spoke with the art historian Andrzej Szczerski about the Polish pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2019.
In the opinion of Mr Szczerski, this edition of Biennale was to set a borderline between what the world of art experienced in the early years of the 21th century, and what is happening now.
The “Flight” installation by Roman Stańczak symbolise decay and destruction, but, on the other hand, also a reconstruction. Mr Szczerski believes that the sculpture represents the idea of uniting people on the ruins of what happened before.
This year, the Polish pavilion in Venice was well received by international critics, who depicts it as one of the most interesting pavilions at the whole Biennale.
