During his visit to Brussels, Belgium, Polish President Andrzej Duda on Tuesday met his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I assured Mr President [Zelensky] that Poland constantly supports the pro-European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine. This issue is very important for us,” President Duda said.
He also confirmed the Polish support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. “We continue to support Ukraine's efforts to maintain and, first of all, restore its territorial integrity,” the President declared.
President Duda also said that he and Mr Zelensky had discussed “difficult subjects in our relations, historical problems that exist in relations between our nations.”
The Polish head of the state emphasised that he wanted to promote building bridges between Poles and Ukrainians “in the spirit of truth but, first of all, in the spirit of reconciliation and good cooperation.”
