“Poland is within you” project seeks to connect children of Polish heritage living abroad with their heritage.
Some 250 young Poles were invited to Warsaw for the summer holidays. They were shown places of interest in Warsaw, taught history and, to the extent required, the Polish language.
“For us, Poles, it is important to maintain a connection with you, but the will on the other side is also required. I’m happy to see so many young people from all corners of the world who want to come to Poland, speak Polish, learn about Polish history, literature, and talk with their peers in the country,” said Stanisław Karczewski, the speaker of the Senate, while the group was touring the Senate building.
The project has been organised by the “Help for Poles in the East” foundation and paid for by the Senate, the upper house of the Polish parliament.
