Polish companies are more eager to use international online trading platforms, such as Aliexpress, Tmall, eBay, Amazon and Zalando, recent statistics presented by the “Rzeczpospolita” daily show.
Such websites allowed Polish cosmetic producers to enter the very difficult, “closed,” Chinese market. Doing it online is much easier, especially if companies sell their products via websites which reach millions of users.
Blanka Chmurzyńska-Brown, the General Director of the Polish Union of Cosmetics Industry said that many Polish companies sell their products via online service Tmall.hk.
Another platform that is opening itself for foreign companies is Aliexpress, which is already popular among Polish customers.
Both services are owned by Chinese e-commerce giant, Alibaba, which wants to mark its presence on different markets.
Polish Agency of Trade and Investment (PAIH) supports Polish enterprises in entering the Chinese market. “We support Polish companies in contacts with partners of cross-border e-commerce, platforms and brand management companies operating in the Chinese market,” said Andrzej Juchniewicz, the head of trade office of PAIH department in Shanghai, China.
Closer to home
But China is not the only destination for Polish companies which try to sell their products overseas. Platforms such as eBay and Amazon allow them to offer their goods to customers in the other EU Members States and in the US.
“More than 7,200 companies from Poland cooperate with us, what allows them to develop business thanks to our services,” Marta Rzetelska, the spokesperson of Amazon Polska told “Rzeczpospolita.”
Polish producers are also present in the portfolio of online shopping platform Zalando, based in Berlin, Germany, but popular among Polish users.
