Speedway: Janowski wins in Germany, Zmarzlik co-leads standings

Maciej Janowski won the FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Teterow, northern Germany, while his compatriot Bartosz Zmarzlik finished second.

Both Polish riders performed well, showing no remarkable weak spots during the 23-heat event. The then leader of the series, Leon Madsen, got eliminated at the semifinal stage on 10 points.

Other Poles: Patryk Dudek and Janusz Kołodziej, finished 8th and 15th respectively.

Janowski claimed his third Grand Prix podium spot this season, following his shoulder injury putting him out of the competition at the beginning of the season. The 28-year old Pole finished third twice, in Hallstavik and Malilla, Sweden.

Zmarzlik co-leads the world championships standings with 85 points, alongside Danish rider Leon Madsen. Russian Emil Sayfutdinov is third with 78 pts.

The Grand Prix series will see its eight event taking place on September 7 in Vojens, Denmark.
