Allies knew about the Holocaust: deputy minister

Deputy Culture Minister Magdalena Gawin interviewed on PolandIN says that an exhibition which is being put on in Berlin shows how the Allies had been informed by the Polish underground state on the nature and scale of the Holocaust.

The Deputy Minister told PolandIN that the exhibition which will inaugurate the work of the Witold Pilecki Institute in Berlin displays the documents that the Allies received from the Polish underground state during WWII.

Thanks to the efforts of Witold Pilecki, an officer of the Polish underground, who volunteered to be taken prisoner to Auschwitz, the Polish underground had a full picture of the unfolding genocide and sent evidence to the Allies asking for military intervention.
