A new Research and Development Centre (R&D) of the company BSH, aimed at creating new trends in the domestic appliances sector, was opened in Łódź, central Poland on Monday.
The centre currently employs 140 engineers. It will cooperate with Łódź University of Technology, providing its students and graduates opportunities for further development.
The R&D Centre was established with a view to further develop the washing machines and dryers manufactured in BSH factories around the world. In Łódź, innovative solutions for devices from these two product groups will be developed, tested and then prepared for implementation.
A prototype workshop is already operating within the centre, while an approval laboratory for checking device safety standards will soon be launched. In the future, the facility will operate ten types of laboratories and over 1,500 test sites.
Ultimately, the facility will employ up to 200 people.
On the Polish market, the BSH Home Appliances Group offers brands such as Bosch, Siemens, Gaggenau and Zelmer. The company has six factories in Poland, including three in Łódź - producing washing machines, dishwashers and clothes dryers.
