In the group phase, Poland defeated Morocco 3:1, drew 1:1 with Wales and then won 6:0 against Lithuania and 6:1 against Belgium. In the knock-out stages, the Polish team got the better of Bulgaria (3:0), in the quarterfinals they saw off Mexico (7:3), and in the semi-final Poland defeated Moldova 4:1.

Poland’s opponent in the final was Russia. The Poles started the match nervously, and it was the Russians who scored first. Russia’s Rustam Ramazanov found the net in the 12th minute. It was soon 2:0, when Ramazanov scored once again.

In the second half, the Poles improved their performance. Marcin Rosiński reduced the deficit just three minutes into the second half. The Russians responded with a goal from Andrey Pavlov, and Poland were only to score a second goal when Bartłomiej Dębicki scored a consolation with a header.

The first edition of the Socca World Cup took place in 2018 and when Poland also finished as runners-up.
