Poland and Hungary block EU's rule of law conclusion

The draft conclusions were presented by Finland's presidency and were based on a proposal from the European Commission, the EU's executive arm.

"The Council's conclusions haven't been adopted. Poland and Hungary voiced their objections to the EC's role in the rule-of-law review process in other countries," the Polish Press Agency was informed by its EU source.

Due to the lack of unanimity, the document was not accepted as a European Council conclusion.
