The Estonian Regional Jet aircraft, which was to fly from Warsaw to Bucharest, was withdrawn from service while taxiing before takeoff. The crew detected a smell of smoke inside the cabin.
After the flight was cancelled the Airport security service announced an incident which resulted in several delays in flight schedules.
The Airport’s spokesman informed the press that the passengers left the aircraft safely and were moved to the departure gate at the airport where they received assistance from airport staff.
The PLL LOT press office announced that the Estonian Regional Jet airplane operated for the Polish airline and that a replacement for it has already been found, so the passengers would make it to Bucharest.
“It is LOT’s plane, Embraer 190,” the airline’s press office confirmed.
