Two children have been brought to Żeromski Specialised Hospital in Kraków with upper respiratory tract infection but the facility’s spokesperson alleviates concerns over whether it could have been a case of coronavirus.
“The two children… are in good health. Nothing indicates that we are dealing with a coronavirus infection here,” said the spokesperson.
Having recently returned from China, the children will remain under medical surveillance. They were submitted to similar procedural steps as the Polish students who have recently been brought back to Poland from Wuhan University.
No case of coronavirus infection has been reported in Poland so far.
According to the Polish Press Agency (PAP), the coronavirus fatality count has risen to 81, with around 2,800 people infected with the disease worldwide. Over the past 24 hours 769 new coronavirus infections have been confirmed, including five in Hong Kong and two in Macau.
Apart from China coronavirus infections have so far been reported in Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.
