The Arctowski Polish Antarctic Station has opened recruitment for thirteen positions.
Despite this being a trip for half a year or even a year, there are more applicants than posts. And the work there is definitely not a vacation. However, if one loves wildlife, they will be pleased to stumble upon Adelie penguins, elephant seals or humpback whales.
“One works in the water a lot, so it's very good if people who apply like to swim, have some experience in sailing or powerboats,” said Dr Robert Bialik, the Director of the Antarctic research station. Drone skills are also welcome.
Henryk Arctowski Polish Antarctic Station is located on King George Island, near the coast of Antarctica. It was named after a Polish meteorologist who, accompanied by a Belgian explorer, was the first to overwinter in Antarctica.
