Poland to open new diplomatic missions in Switzerland and Liechtenstein

Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sek, told the Polish Press Agency that "relations with both countries (Switzerland and Liechtenstein) are equally important for us due to the great business potential, and in the case of Switzerland cooperation with the Polish diaspora, the protection of national heritage abroad as well as historical matters. This is why, for the first time in history, we are opening an Honorary Consulate in Basel and the same type of institution in Liechtenstein."

The Polish Honorary Consulate in Basel will start working on 9 March and will be led by Swiss furniture tycoon Daniel Pfirter. Government talks between Poland and Switzerland, and between Poland and Liechtenstein, at a deputy ministerial level will accompany the inauguration of the new diplomatic facilities.

On 10 March the deputy foreign ministers of Poland and Switzerland will attend the opening of the new Polish Embassy building in Bern.
