Polish oil giant PKN Orlen was placed in the ranking of World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2020, as the only company from Central and Eastern Europe.
“We are trustworthy partners in business,” Daniel Obajtek, the CEO of Orlen was quoted as saying in a press release.
“Our activities are transparent, we undertake enterprises consistently taking care of the highest models of behaviour, which our partners appreciate. The market also perceives it, the best proof of which is [our] presence for the 7th time in the ranking of the world's most ethical companies,” he added.
The head of the company said that he treats such distinction “as an obligation to further build an ethical work environment and promote such activities in our environment.”
Orlen explained that companies taking part in the ranking have to show, among other things, “effective and proven activities” such as in the field of sustainable development, voluntary work, social responsibility, environmental protection, anti-corruption measures and data protection.
