Since March 22, students from Łódź Medical University in central Poland have been answering calls from those seeking factual information about the coronavirus, providing them with advice and keeping their morale high.
The future medics share their knowledge on the 24-hour telephone line dedicated solely for that purpose. They explain how the infection occurs, its course and correct fake news arising amid the coronavirus outbreak. In some cases, they refer concerned citizens to appropriate services.
Currently, 20 people are on duty at the so-called Emergency Notification Centre. The rector of the University has already asked all the students to aid the medical workers, as their help may soon become indispensable in hospitals and pharmacies.
