Coronavirus pandemic empties the streets of Kraków

The global coronavirus outbreak has turned Kraków’s streets, usually bursting with crowds of people, into an empty public space. On March 25th, the new shelter-at-home restrictions came into force, limiting the size of public gatherings to only two people. Poles and foreign tourists alike remain at home, only taking to the streets to do their grocery shopping or visiting pharmacies and doctors. Drone footage has captured the rare view of the deserted courtyards of the 14th century Wawel Royal Castle, the traditional home of Poland’s royal dynasties.
