My thoughts are with PM Johnson: Polish President

Polish President Andrzej Duda wrote on social media that his thoughts are with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was moved to intensive care in hospital on Monday evening. Britain’s PM suffers from the COVID-19 disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The British PM’s office on Downing Street 10 reported that the condition of Mr Johnson worsened on Monday evening and this is why he was moved to ICU. He was admitted to St. Thomas’s Hospital in London on Sunday. On Saturday Carrie Symonds, the 32-year-old fiancé of the British PM said that she also was infected with the coronavirus, but “she had defeated it and feels fine.”

The British PM asked the Foreign Minister Dominic Raab to temporarily take over his duties. According to “The Sun” daily, Mr Johnson has some trouble with breathing and this is why he was moved to the ICU. Downing Street reported that the PM is not on a ventilator.

As of Tuesday morning, more than 51,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus were recorded in the UK, including 5,373 fatalities. Globally, more than 1.3 mln infections were confirmed. In Poland, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 4,532.
