It is safe to say that the Polish coronavirus test designed by the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań is going to be an absolute game-changer when it comes to improving diagnostics in Poland. The new test works by recognising and separating the RNA of the virus from the human RNA and is said to deliver results in 8 hours after initial sampling.
The Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry is hoping that the companies in charge of the production will be able to exceed a production capacity of 50,000 tests per week. If the supply meets demand chances are that the Polish coronavirus test will be distributed internationally. Further work on improving the test is now ongoing.
Professor Maciej Figiel, part of the team of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences spoke to Klaudia Czerwińska to give Poland IN more details on the current test situation.
