Microsoft is set to invest $1 bln to create a Polish Digital Valley, in cooperation with the National Cloud - the most advanced cloud computing system in the country. The company announced its intentions on Tuesday.
According to Mr Mark Loughran, the General Manager at Microsoft Poland, the country displays great potential when it comes to digital development. So far, 25% of developers in Central and Eastern Europe come from Poland.
The investment carries the possibility of changing the distribution of cyber powers in Europe but also greatly improving the country's cybersecurity with all significant data being protected by an American corporation.
Mr Loughran remains optimistic about the cyber future of Poland as the country has the potential to become the digital heart of Europe.
