It seems that the round table talks on presidential elections were successful, as we all want the election to be held within such a period that the president can be sworn in before August 6, said the ruling Law and Justice party MP Marek Suski after Tuesday's meeting.
The Senate held further talks on presidential elections with the participation of representatives of parliamentary clubs and Senate Speaker Tomasz Grodzki. Proposals for amendments to the election law were one of the topics on the agenda.
“It can be said that today's meeting has taken us forward, because we all want democratic elections to take place in Poland and that there will be no vacancy in the presidential post,” Mr Suski said.
“This meeting was a success, we managed to convince the entire opposition to make these elections take place for Poland to have stable authorities,” he concluded.
The specific date is yet to be announced.
