As of May 20, Polish companies have received PLN 42.8 bn (EUR 9.3 bn) from the governmental stimulus package, the Development Ministry announced in a statement.
The ministry reported that Poland’s Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and employment offices had received more than 4.2 mln applications from businesses making use of the solutions offered by the stimulus package.
The ministry stated that those figures show that the aid solutions contained in the package have met with great interest from enterprises.
It was pointed out that the aim of the support was to help companies maintain liquidity and financial stability and to preserve jobs during the period of severe economic disruption caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic.
The ministry also noted that it was in constant contact with representatives of industries, employers' organisations, and individual companies.
“Submitted suggestions for additions and modifications are being analysed and consulted. The government is responding in an ongoing and flexible manner to the dynamically changing situation,” the ministry emphasised in its statement.
