Piotr Samson, the head of Poland's Civil Aviation Authority (ULC) has been elected to become a member of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Coordinating Committee.
Among Mr Samson’s duties, as a member of the Coordinating Committee, will be strengthening cooperation with international civil aviation organisations.
The ECAC member states elected Mr Samson unanimously. The Coordinating Committee is the executive and managing body of ECAC, which manages the work of this organisation.
Founded in 1955 as an intergovernmental organisation, ECAC seeks to harmonise civil aviation policies and practices among its member states and, at the same time, to promote understanding on policy matters between its member states and other parts of the world.
The ECAC's mission is the promotion of the continued development of a safe, efficient and sustainable European air transport system. Currently it has 44 member states.
