David Lynch announced that his new short film "Fire" premiered on YouTube on Wednesday. The production was written and directed by the creator of "Twin Peaks" many years ago, but never released.
The director gave information about the premiere of the short film via Twitter.
"Dear Twitter Friends. David Lynch Theater on Wednesday May 20 will present "Fire" ("Fire") "- wrote the director, referring to his YouTube channel.
"Pożar" includes the music of Marek Żebrowski, a Polish composer and long-term collaborator with Lynch. Back in 2015, Żebrowski had a chance to speak about the music composed for David Lynch in an interview with the USC School of Music.
“I thought it was in some sense an melancholic and also a very poetic film. Not wanting to be too clear, I tried to illustrate what David was doing.” Zebrowski said.
Lynch described the collaboration process with Zebrowski, “the whole point of our experiment was that I would not say anything about my intentions and Marek would interpret the visualisations in his own way. So I say that it was a very successful experiment and I liked the composition that Marek wrote for the Penderecki String Quartet” - he explained.
For those interested in entering Zebrowski and Lynch’s audio, visual world the film is available to watch here.
