Number of COVID-19 cases in Poland rises to 21,326

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Poland has increased by 90 and reached 21,326, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday evening.

The ministry also reported one new fatality. The person had other health conditions. As a result, the current death toll of COVID-19 in Poland adds up to 996.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, over 767,000 tests for coronavirus have been carried out in the country, in the last 24 hours over 16,500.

According to the ministry, the number of individuals hospitalised in Poland due to the coronavirus epidemic amounts to 2,242 on Sunday evening. Nearly 80,000 people are currently under quarantine and nearly 20,000 have been put under epidemiological surveillance, whereas 9,194 people in the country have so far recovered from COVID-19.

As of Sunday morning, there have been as many as 5.31 mln coronavirus cases, over 342,000 deaths and 2.11 mln recoveries confirmed worldwide.
