COVID-19 cases in Poland rise to 22,074

Poland’s Health Ministry announced that 443 new COVID-19 infections have been confirmed on Tuesday, bringing the country’s total to 22,074 positive diagnoses.

The ministry also reported 17 new fatalities. As a result, the current death toll from COVID-19 adds up to 1,024.

According to the ministry, the number of individuals hospitalised in Poland due to the coronavirus epidemic amounted to 2,171 on Tuesday. A total of 78,864 people were quarantined and 19,139 were placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 10,020 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far.

As of Tuesday afternoon, as many as 5,631,831 coronavirus cases, 348,965 deaths and 2,399,258 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 1,710,558. Brazil comes second most with 376,669 cases and Russia third with 362,342.
