COVID-19 cases in Poland rise to 22,473

Poland’s Health Ministry announced that 399 new COVID-19 infections have been confirmed on Wednesday, bringing the country’s total to 22,473 positive diagnoses.

The ministry also reported 4 new fatalities. As a result, the current death toll from COVID-19 adds up to 1,028.

According to the ministry, the number of individuals hospitalised in Poland due to the coronavirus epidemic amounted to 2,320 on Wednesday. A total of 79,007 people were quarantined and 19,682 were placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 10,330 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far.

As of Wednesday morning, as many as 5,092,034 coronavirus cases, 329,768 deaths and 2,026,178 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 1,725,275. Brazil comes second most with 394,507 cases and Russia third with 370,680.
