COVID-19 cases in Poland rise to 23,155

Poland’s Health Ministry announced that 332 new COVID-19 infections have been confirmed on Friday, bringing the country’s total to 23,155 positive diagnoses.

The ministry also reported 13 new fatalities. As a result, the current death toll from COVID-19 adds up to 1,051.

According to the ministry, the number of individuals hospitalised in Poland due to the coronavirus epidemic amounted to 2,035 on Friday. A total of 79,995 people were quarantined and 18,224 were placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 10,692 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far.

As of Friday afternoon, as many as 5,950,363 coronavirus cases, 363,004 deaths and 2,611,426 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 1,768,461. Brazil comes second most with 438,812 cases and Russia third with 387,623.
