Film Festival in Kraków begins

The 60th edition of Kraków Film Festival, one of the oldest film events in Europe devoted to documentaries, short feature and animated films, started on Sunday with streaming of Paweł Ferdek's “Pollywood,” which follows the footsteps of Hollywood's founders, Samuel Goldwyn, Luis B. Mayer and the Warner brothers.

This year's festival, to last until June 7, features some 200 films from around the world which take part in three international and one Polish competition. The whole festival programme has been moved to the internet due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic.

Movie streaming will be available on the event's website. Broadcasts from meetings will also be presented via social media.



Four international juries will select the winners in respective categories. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 6.
