Poland supports Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in tackling pandemic

As part of Allied solidarity and support to the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) members and partner countries, Poland has recently provided medical aid to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, NATO wrote on Monday.

The medical assistance consisted of around 6,800 protective face shields and 5,400 litres of disinfectant detergent for hands and equipment.

The delivered aid followed a request for support from Georgia through the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC), NATO’s main civil emergency response mechanism.

The centre operates on a 24/7 basis, coordinating requests and offers of assistance. Georgia is one of the Alliance’s closest operational partners and an Enhanced Opportunities Partner.

Poland has also provided bilateral assistance to NATO partners Armenia and Azerbaijan, including medical-grade masks, visors and disinfectant liquid.
