Polish Culture Minister Piotr Gliński and Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Poland Tomislav Vidošević signed an agreement on the programme of Polish-Croatian cultural cooperation. The officials met in Kraków, southern Poland, on Wednesday.
Praising fruitful and intense bilateral cooperation in the past, Minister Gliński added that now it will be intensified thanks to the two countries' participation in the implementation of the Three Seas Initiative.
“I hope that this programme will be able to materialise soon in the form of many cultural initiatives,” he said.
Ambassador Vidošević said that the signed programme offers a perfect framework for the implementation of cultural projects by institutions from both countries..
The programme defines, among others, rules for organising visits and longer stays of artists in Poland and Croatia, rules for the cooperation of galleries and museums, and forms of cooperation in the field of music, theatre, dance, cinematography, archives, libraries, literature and translations, as well as in the field of protection of intangible heritage.
Minister Gliński and Ambassador Vidošević also opened an exhibition of works by outstanding Croatian poster artist Boris Bućan..
The 2015 Three Seas Initiative, a joint project of the Polish and Croatian presidents, is a platform for cooperation of the presidents of 12 countries situated between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas. Its aim is to boost cooperation among the countries of the region.
