259 new COVID-19 infections in Poland

Poland’s Health Ministry announced that 259 new COVID-19 infections have been confirmed on Friday morning, bringing the country’s total to 35,405 positive diagnoses.

The ministry also reported 15 new fatalities. As a result, the current death toll from COVID-19 adds up to 1,507.

According to the ministry, a total of 84,790 people are quarantined and 13,478 were placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 22,651 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far.

As of Friday morning, as many as 11,002,519 coronavirus cases, 524,436 deaths and 6,164,678 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 2,837,189. Brazil comes second most with 1,501,353 cases and Russia third with 667,883.
