Unemployment in Poland second-lowest in EU: Eurostat

After including seasonal factors, unemployment in Poland reached 3 percent in May, while the EU average was 6.7 percent, according to data announced by Eurostat.

A lower unemployment rate than in Poland was recorded only in the Czech Republic, where it was 2.4 percent.

Unemployment in countries of the Eurozone was 7.4 percent on average. Experts expected that it would go up to 7.7 percent.

Eurostat reported unemployment in Poland in May rose to 3.0 percent from 2.9 percent in April. Around 505,000 people did not have a job in Poland in May, compared to some 496,000 a month earlier.
