231 new COVID-19 infections in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 231 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in Poland to 35,950 including 10,687 still active. The number of active cases has been falling since mid-June.

The ministry also announced that five more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 1,517.

According to the ministry, a total of 83,813 people were quarantined and 13,508 were placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 23,746 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far, so it means that there are still 10,687 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

More than 19,200 coronavirus tests were conducted over the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.

As of Sunday morning, as many as 11,001,023 coronavirus cases, 524,406 deaths and 6,162,463 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 2,837,189. Brazil has the second most with 1,501,353 cases and Russia third with 667,883.
