World’s largest monument under construction, supervised by Polish-Americans

The Crazy Horse Memorial, designed by the Polish sculptor Korczak Ziółkowski is being carved into the Black Hills of South Dakota. The family of the artist, who initiated the construction in 1948, is now continuing the work.

The monument will be 195 metres wide and 172 metres tall, and should it be completed, the Crazy Horse Memorial will be the largest construction of its kind.
