The government has not ruled out the re-introduction of more severe sanitary restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, but another lockdown is not being considered, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference on Thursday.

He added that the government crisis management team would analyse the current epidemiological situation and that the restrictions in force should be strictly obeyed.

In his opinion, despite not having received new guidelines on restrictions from the Chief Sanitary Inspector and from the Ministry of Health, it is likely that certain decisions aimed at curbing the COVID-19 spread will be taken if the situation worsens.

PM Morawiecki went on, saying that the government is considering the re-introduction of quarantine for people returning from certain countries, for example, Spain, where the number of coronavirus cases is still very high.
