COVID-19 infections rising with 658 new cases in Poland

The Health Ministry announced 657 new confirmed COVID-19 infections in Poland, increasing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 45,689 including 9,985 still active. The number of active cases increased from 9,679 yesterday.

The ministry also announced that 7 more people died because of the COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus. The death toll in Poland went up to 1,716.

According to the ministry, a total of 97,189 people are quarantined and 8,069 are placed under epidemiological surveillance, whilst 33,987 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the country so far, which means that there are still 9,985 active cases of the coronavirus in Poland.

As of Friday morning, as many as 17,496,047 coronavirus cases, 677,137 deaths and 10,954,205 recoveries have been confirmed worldwide.

The US remains the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, amounting to 4,634,985. Brazil comes second most with 2,613,789 cases and India third with 1,643,416.
